For me, the ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification was the clear winner over certificates from other education providers. Some gyms and health clubs prefer this certificate or want it in addition to a Yoga Alliance stamp of approval. Other than their excellent online reviews, my reasons for choosing ACE are as follows:
New Textbook as of July 2023
Very exciting! Enjoy the new and improved textbook for the ACE Group Fitness Certification Course. I know I will. I was actually gonna join last week, but sometimes procrastinating pays off. There are also now 3 practice tests instead of 2 in the Plus package. The Advantage package has new goodies too, and the highlight is definitely the Audiobook version of the textbook.
ACE Programs are Accredited
Education dollars are best spent on accredited institutions. The specific accrediting body is also important. The ACE website says that it has received accreditation for all four of its primary certification programs—ACE Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, Health Coach, and Medical Exercise Specialist—from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (typically called the NCCA).
ACE is a Nonprofit Organization
Because ACE is a nonprofit organization, the main mission of ACE is to provide accurate information and improve well-being, not to turn a profit. My mission at The Genius of Yoga aligns with that of ACE; thus, my dollars will be doing good things. It’s always worth your while to ensure that the company or parent company of the products you buy align with your values.
With ACE, You’re Certified Worldwide
If you’re a world traveler or ex-pat, you need to know that ACE certifications are valid outside the United States. Specifically, according to their website, “ACE’s four certification programs—Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, and Medical Exercise Specialist—are now accredited and recognized worldwide, as ACE recently became an International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/IEC 17024 accredited Certification Organization. In fact, ACE is currently the only health and fitness nonprofit organization to hold ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation.”
Thus, if you’re life’s journey includes hustling dollars in foreign countries, you prefer to promote knowledge over profits, and you want to take advantage of the most current information and learning styles, the ACE Group Fitness Instructor Certification is probably the best choice.
